Default Constructive Thoughts Regarding Item Drops

This is not a omgz game over *cry* post

The reasoning for the drop adjustment is excellent, when it is adjusted correctly i believe it will greatly reduce botting and such gameplay that effects GW negatively.

But, i think the way it is being implented right now is not the best solution.

What has happened in the last 12 hours+ that has had a signifigant impact on the economy...

The more difficult "runs" in the game (ex:beacon to droks), is considerably easier because of normal mode thus reducing "runners" the ability to earn as much money as they did before.

Less loot drop does equal less money for botting, sure, but if the concern is focused on botting this might not be the best solution.

The reduction of loot is going to severly effect everyone, items such as hammers, staffs and other common weapons that used to occour frequently allowing people to salvage them for materiels to make armor, IE shield to wood, wood to parch kept armor materiel prices considerably cheap because all the crafting items were in abundence. Buying armor you could get a max set of the cheaper armor(less expensive materiels such as monk armor) for about ~15k, ~10k materiels ~5k crafting cost.
I will not be suprised to see all these materiel prices shoot up at a very fast rate, causing newer players to have to "farm" their own materiels but now they cant because the drop rate is so low they cant even farm a set of materials for armor without some hardcore play time, they will most likely find a black dye or another "used to be rare item" before they will have enuf to make a set of armor. But they will be unable to sell the "used to be rare" beacuse now it is just as common as an almost worthless hammer thus driving those prices downward.

So now the constructive part

Take a look at the Zaishen Challenge @ balthazar, to keep faction farmers at bay they created a rule that only allows you to earn no more then 2,000 balth faction every 24 hours by killing mobs in those mishions.

Why not implement something similar to that, allow a decent but not overwhelming amount of items to drop to each account per 24 hours, if they are farming, maybe after XX amount of kills of a certain mob the drop rates severly reduces itself to about how often they are currently dropping

That would cause anyone who wants to continue to destroy the game by botting buy a considerable amount of accounts, they would also need to increase their hardware/software to support such a considerable expansion. thus making ANET even more money so you could hire more people so you could set aside some time on a regular basis to keep up the fight against these game spoilers.

It will also not negatively effect the non-hardcore farmers, and would allow a true (non-automated) hardcore farmer to still be able to farm, if that what they enjoy doing, but they will have to create a vast amount of builds because they will not be able to exploit hydras all day long. They will have to find other effective builds against certain groups of monsters.

Thanks for reading, sorry if i gave you a headache

Thumbs up to the GW team in keeping this games replay value uncompareable to any other MMO i have experienced!
